According to Chinese authorities, some 637 million tourists took a domestic trip during the eight-day long holiday, generating domestic tourism revenue of 466.56 billion yuan (69.6 billion USD). It's hard to imagine that Wuhan, once hit hard by the COVID-19 epidemic earlier this year and was locked down for 76 days has made a swift comeback. According to experts, China’s tourist spending has significantly increased as consumer confidence soars. The Chinese economy booked a 3.2% increase in the second quarter over the first three months.
